East Field
East Field is a stadium in Glens Falls, New York, USA. It is used for baseball and football and is the former home of the Adirondack Lumberjacks, the Glens Falls White Sox (an affiliate of the Chicago White Sox), the Adirondack Red Birds, and the Glens Falls Tigers (an affiliate of the Detroit Tigers). East Field also has hosted the NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association) baseball World Series. The ballpark has a capacity of 8,000 people for baseball and opened in 1980. East Field is also the former home of the Glens Falls Indians high school football team and is known by some of their players and fans as "Indian Field." East Field is located on eastern edge of the city (closer to Hudson Falls) section of town.
Currently, East Field is the home of the Glens Falls Golden Eagles of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League. Also, the Glens Falls Greenjackets American football team of the Empire Football League play there. The Greenjackets, founded in 1928 and currently the second oldest semi-professional football team in the country, have played at East Field since 1980.
East Field is also the home of the biggest fireworks celebration for the 4th of July in the city of Glens Falls. The fireworks are usually held on July 3. The event consistently draws about 5,000 spectators inside in addition to those outside.
